How about yoga?

Yoga as a system of physical exercises is becoming more and more popular in Europe and America, although until recently western people associated yoga with meditation, religion, mysticism or oriental lifestyle rather than physical exercises. Due to separation of the religious and mystic aura from the physical exercises, yoga as form of recreation has been gaining more and more followers.

Practicing yoga poses (asanas) causes isometric tension of spine muscles and stretches them. Yoga increases spinal joint movement, removes muscle contractures and teaches you the correct posture. Lengthening of the spine happens when we activate muscles, which diminishes overburden of the intervertebral discs.

Strengthening back muscles develops core stability, which supports the spine. That is why today many doctors suggest yoga practice as a form of preventive healthcare concerning not only the spine but also the whole body.
